Emergency - my rabbit's ears don't flop!

Posted by: Alison Glennon
It's really hard to comprehend that someone would actually call 999 because they had been sold a rabbit with non-floppy ears! But this is today's 'most read' story on the BBC News website. And while it's likely that this was a call to the police to report mis-selling rather than the ambulance to report a health problem, part of the reason why we've produced this website is to help people find the professional advice they can trust about pet health - there are loads of dedicated people out there, well qualified to advise. Follow the links from the home page to find a local vet or pet shop, for example.

I'm also typing this feeling rather proud of Dylan who was second in the down-stay at our training club's fun day yesterday. Most particularly, Dylan didn't stir when another dog who was 'out' marched right in front of his nose while my husband (with the other contender owners) was on his way to hide behind a shed to test their dogs' resolve. A simple thing, but even at the event last year we would not have dreamt of leaving him, off lead, in a field full of other dogs - not if we wanted to avoid litigation anyway! Finding a great training class has been a godsend. It took time to find the one that suited us best as this was the third one we tried, but we found another great source of expert advice - as well as fun and mental challenge for a rather wayward boxer.
